Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy outlines how the 'Notepad: Notes Memo Launcher' app ('the App,' 'we,' 'us,' or 'our') gathers, handles, and protects your information whenever you use our application.

1. Data We Automatically Collect

When you interact with the App, we may automatically gather certain non-personal device and usage information to ensure smooth operation:

  • Device Details: Model name, operating system version, and unique hardware identifiers.

  • Network Status: Connection type (Wi-Fi or cellular) and network state.

  • Usage Statistics: Interaction habits, feature access frequency, session durations, and system crash logs.

2. Information Provided by You

You are not required to create an account or share personal identity details to use the App. All of your notes, memos, tasks, and preferences are saved locally on your device. We do not transmit or host your private notes or task lists on our servers.

3. Launcher Functionality & System Integration

This App functions as a home screen launcher with built-in note-taking features. After installation, it may become your default home screen and replace your current launcher. None of your apps or personal data are deleted. Your installed apps remain available and can be accessed through the App Drawer or Search. You can switch back to your previous launcher anytime from your device settings.

4. How We Use Collected Information

We utilize the collected device and diagnostic data solely to:

  • App Functionality: To manage your notes, memos, and reminders.

  • Performance Monitoring: To detect crashes and improve app stability.

  • Service Improvement: To analyze usage trends and enhance app features.

  • Notifications (if enabled): To provide updates, reminders, or important app-related messages.

5. System Permissions Explained

To function seamlessly as a launcher and utility app, the App requests specific system permissions:

  • INTERNET: Required for app update checks, loading external app features, and serving ads.

  • ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: Checks internet availability to manage ad loading and data synchronization.

  • QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES: As a launcher, the App reads the list of apps installed on your device so it can display, organize, and launch them through the App Library and app search. This information remains on your device and is never uploaded to our servers or shared with third parties.

  • BIND_APPWIDGET: As a launcher, this permission allows the App to display and bind home screen widgets (such as notes, the clock, weather, calendar, and other supported widgets) on your home screen.

  • EXPAND_STATUS_BAR: Allows basic launcher gestures to expand or collapse your device’s notification panel.

  • REQUEST_DELETE_PACKAGES: This permission lets the App show the standard Android uninstall prompt only when you choose to remove an app. The App never deletes or uninstalls any application automatically—your confirmation is always required.

  • POST_NOTIFICATIONS: The App uses this permission to deliver notifications for scheduled reminders, tasks, and other important app-related alerts, helping you stay informed and enhancing your overall experience.

  • READ_PHONE_STATE: Allows the App to read device status and cellular network info to maintain service continuity and optimize ad performance. This permission is used strictly for technical diagnostics and network state identification; it is never used to access your phone calls, identity, or private contacts.

We request only the minimum permissions needed for the app to function correctly.

6. Local Storage & Security Measures

  • On-Device Storage: Your notes, task lists, and layout preferences remain stored locally on your physical device.

  • No Server Storage: We do not maintain server-side databases containing your personal notes or input data.

  • Security Practices: We apply reasonable and industry-standard security measures to protect any information processed by the App and help ensure a secure user experience.

7. Data Sharing Policy

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to outside parties. Non-personal, aggregated usage metrics may be shared with trusted analytics and advertising partners to maintain services (outlined below).

8. Integrated Third-Party SDKs

We integrate third-party software development kits (SDKs) to power analytics, error reporting, and monetization:
  • Firebase (Google LLC): Collects anonymized performance data and crash diagnostics via Crashlytics to optimize application stability. Firebase Privacy Policy
  • Google AdMob (Google LLC): Displays in-app advertisements using anonymized interaction data, device identifiers, and Google Advertising IDs. You can manage personalized ad preferences in your phone's system settings. Google Ad Policies
  • Meta Audience Network: Delivers contextual ad content using basic device and engagement signals. Meta Privacy Policy

9. In-App Payment & Subscription Information

Our App may offer premium features, ad-removal options, or additional services through in-app purchases and subscriptions:

  • Payment Processing: All payments and subscriptions are processed securely via Google Play Billing. We do not store or have access to your payment information (such as credit/debit card details or Google account credentials).

  • Subscriptions: Subscriptions may renew automatically unless you cancel them before the renewal date. You can manage or cancel your subscriptions anytime through your Google Play account settings. If canceled, you will retain access to premium features until the end of the current billing cycle.

  • Data Access: Google may provide us with non-sensitive purchase or subscription details (e.g., purchase status, renewal status, subscription validity) to enable premium features.

  • Refunds & Cancellations: Refund requests are handled directly through your Google Play account in accordance with Google Play's refund policies.

  • Third-Party Access: We do not share your purchase or subscription history with any third parties, except as required for payment validation by Google.

  • Policies: All in-app purchases and subscriptions are subject to Google Terms of Service and Google Privacy Policy.

10. Security and Personal Data Privacy

Your data security is important to us:

  • No personally identifiable data (like name, email, or contacts) is collected.

  • Note and memo content remains private and local to your device.

  • We use trusted SDKs (Firebase, Google, Facebook) that follow strong security protocols.

  • Any data collected via third-party SDKs is anonymized and used only for improving app performance and monetization.

  • We handle your data in compliance with applicable laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). Any personal data processed on your device remains under your control. We are not responsible for data processed locally on your device.
